The Watermill Inn is in the village of Ings, 2 miles east of Windermere in the Lake District and can be easily reached from the M6 junction 36 and by then following the A590 (A591) approximately 15 minutes from the junction. When you turn off the motorway head on the A590 (A591) towards Kendal & Windermere. Don't turn off the dual carrageway. You by-pass Kendal and come down a big hill towards a roundabout, take the 2nd turning (straight on). You by-pass the village of Staveley and the road narrows. The 40mph limit is the start of Ings village (speed cameras operate here, fixed and mobile). After the garage turn left by the church and follow the lane you will see the watermill on the right. If you miss the first turning after the garage continue on for 150 yards and take the sharp left (but beware of the fixed speed camera in the middle of the road it reputidly welcomes motorists to the Lake District and catches up to 600 people out per month). The pub is on the left as you pass the camera.
Oxenholme at Kendal is the nearest mainline railway station. There is a shuttle train fron Oxenholme to Windermere with an hourly train service and its only a short taxi or bus ride to the Watermill at Ings.
The 555 bus runs hourly between Lancaster and Keswick and there is a bus stop either side of the main road.
